Buttermere Camino 2026

Join us for this year’s Grasmoor Mission Community Buttermere Camino, on Saturday 1st August!

We are holding a mini camino (pilgrimage) from St Cuthbert Lorton, to St James, Buttermere, via St Bartholomew in Loweswater, leaving Lorton church at 10am. There will be times for prayer and reflection as well as conversation whilst we walk. Our time together will end with a short reflection at St James’ church, followed by a Communion service for those who’d like to stay on.

The walk is about 11 miles and we hope to arrive in Buttermere at around 4pm.

There will be opportunities to join or leave the walk at Loweswater at around 1pm, where we will be eating our packed lunches; please bring one with you! We recommend sharing lifts, arranging pickups from Buttermere or leaving cars there, as the buses finish in the early evening and are likely to be busy.
