Donations
The finances of Poiema work on a voluntary donation basis. We run a supporter scheme for those who would like to give one off or regular donation towards the work of the Community, temporarily under the charitable umbrella of Lorton Parochial Church Council.
If you would like to make a donation to Poiema, please ask us for details.
We love to keep in touch with our donors, so if you would like to receive occasional communications from the Community, please do let us know.
Retreats and Quiet Days
Our voluntary donation model of giving to the Community is intended to provide flexibility as we seek to serve retreatants from both near and afar. Our hope is that some Retreatants may choose to give more than the suggested donation to help with the ongoing costs of running Poiema, whilst others are welcome to give whatever they can. We don’t want cost to be a barrier to people staying with us, so we leave that decision to each person and provide opportunity to make any donation discretely.
Our list of suggested donations for time at Poiema are as follows:
Residential Retreat, large twin rooms, full board: £70 per night, per person (£80 with Spiritual Accompaniment / Direction)
Residential Retreat, small single room, full board: £60 per night (£70 with Spiritual Accompaniment / Direction)
Day Retreat (without use of private room): £10 – £15
Day Retreat (with use of private room): £15 – £20
Note: Our Day Retreats and Residential Retreats are run on different weeks due to space constraints.
Poiema and the Diocese of Carlisle
Although the Diocese of Carlisle generously provide the house for the use of the Community, no other financial support is received from the Diocese. Poiema is reliant on raising funds for its ongoing work, independently.
