Welcome to the Poiema Community and Retreat House
Poiema is a Christian Community offering a welcoming and hospitable environment within beautiful surroundings, holding space for visitors to encounter God, as they take time away from the demands of daily life to reflect and pray. We are located in the village of Loweswater, in the heart of the Lake District World Heritage Site.

Residential Retreats
Our residential retreats provide the opportunity to dedicate a significant time to pray, reflect and recharge. We offer either self-guided or individually guided retreats (IGRs).
As a retreatant you will have the opportunity to join with our daily rhythm of shared prayer and shared meals.
Day Retreats
A day retreat offers an opportunity to take some time by yourself to reflect and pray, away from the distractions and demands of daily life.
Retreatants have exclusive use of much of the house, as well as the chapel and garden.
Quiet Days
As well as the many types of retreat offered by Poiema, we run group quiet days.
Reflections are given by the Poiema team for the group to think and pray about, each member having time to spend in individual prayer.
